William F. Vore

August 28, 2008

In 1850, William Vore was 14, and lived on the family farm in Bern Ohio. The family moved to Harrison County Iowa in 1855. Vore was working on the family farm in 1860 — and is listed as owning $320 in personal property. This compares to his father who had real estate worth $8,000 (very high for that area) and personal property worth $2,000. He married Elvira Baughn in April 1861. In 1870, he was a farmer in the La Grange township, Harrison County, Iowa, and died there in 1910.

William Vore does not appear to have served in the Civil War.
